There is Only One Power

It’s easy to get thrown out of balance by the events of the world. Particularly the recent political chaos that has left many of us wondering where the presence of justice, kindness and compassion reside. The dark secret of sexual abuse became public this week. We purged ourselves and began a massive collective detox from the centuries old pattern and all too common practice of hiding this dark truth. We are only as sick as our secrets and we are healing at our core. Of course, there was denial and resistance. Darkness hides from the light.

The world can seem to be split in two, the physical and the spiritual, and this tends to create division within ourselves as well. Although it may not be readily apparent and obvious, there is only one power in the universe and the beyond. Whatever you call it, this one power creates and nurtures all of life and expresses itself through love and compassion.  This is the power that can heals us individually and collectively and bridges the gap between the seen and known and the unseen and elusive. It speaks to us from a quiet inner place and reminds us of its grace and goodness.

Don’t give your power over to external events. It’s tempting to do this and spiral down into a dark place, overwhelmed and without hope.

This is a powerful moment of individual and collective transformation. When we remain positive, love ourselves and others, even those that think differently than we do, the one power of the universe flows through us.  Evil eventually destroys itself. It is a dark ghost that feeds on our fears and negativity. Without this it starves and turns in on itself and devours its own.

What we are here to learn, in this time and place and be a witness to, is the crumbing of the old and the emergence of the power of love. The creative, indestructible and life giving power of love. Listen to it, it lives within you.
