Temple Of Spirit Sign Oracle

Sacred Signs and Symbols     Invoking signs and messages, through a Living Oracle exercise is referred to as casting the oracle. Unlike noticing random signs, this is a communication and dialogue with invisible forces and with the world around you. Igniting your personal power and awakening you to the magic hidden within the mundane and everyday, casting the oracle places you in the center of its activity.

The process begins by asking for the presence of a higher power of love and wisdom to guide and direct the oracle. This higher power may be your own soul and higher self. The heavens and divine forces open wide when we make a sincere request.

At times you may want to invoke just one sign for guidance, comfort or connection with a higher power and presence. The Temple Of Spirit is a one sign oracle. It is reminiscent of the ancient oracle temples of Greece who were devoted to the Mother Goddess. The goddess was said to speak through the oracle, giving direction and guidance to those who had waited in long lines to enter the temple.

In the Temple Of Spirit exercise there is no pre-determined amount of time for the casting of the oracle. It begins when you make the request and ends when you receive a sign. Similar to the other exercises, begin by becoming aware of the area of concern or question that you would like addressed. Keep it simple and open ended. Do not ask for a yes or no answer.  With a one sign oracle, a more direct request will invoke a more clear response. You can also cast this oracle for general guidance or to deepen your connection with the goddess or a higher power.

Similar to the Sign Signature Oracle, it can be helpful to create a small altar indoors or outside to help you to focus your intent and request. Place on the altar any objects or pictures that represent a higher loving presence or the goddess. You might also want to place flowers or a candle on the altar. With an open hearted request for assistance, send a love and thought message into the spirit realm. Let go of your expectations and ask for guidance that is in your highest good.

When you feel as if your request is complete. Send gratitude for the guidance soon to come your way and gather the altar.

After you have completed the request, be aware and alert to the emergence of a sign or message. Go about your normal routines being mindful of the presence of a sign. Although you may not be completely certain when and if you perceive is a sign, trust your first impression.

Thinking Intuition

10678682_793459830711439_9158001403309668299_n         In my work as a professional intuitive I have discovered that intuition surfaces in four primary ways, through our emotions, our spirit, and the physical body and through the mind. I call these different intuitive modalities your intuitive type. You are most likely a combination of two or more primary types. (In my book, Discover Your Psychic Type there is a quiz that will help you to decipher your intuitive strengths and weaknesses)

Although thinking and intuition may seem to be at opposite ends of one another, they can be quite compatible. A mental intuitive absorbs energy information through their thoughts, instantaneous knowing, quick insights and ahh moments. Often naturally telepathic, they are able to tune into the thoughts of another or a group and can intuit future trends and solutions to common problems

Because their intuition surfaces through ideas, understanding systems and insight, they can often be found in such fields as science, medicine, technology and cutting edge research, innovation and invention.  Quite often mental intuitives do not recognize their intuitive insight as anything other than their own thinking. They love to intuit, but they do not always recognize their own often insightful and usually exacting intuitive ability. I love it that Steven Jobs, clearly a mental intuitive, claimed his intuition as a strong and valuable asset.

Of intuition he said: “Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drowned your own inner voice. And most important have the courage to follow your heart and intuition they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

If you are a mental intuitive, recognizing and encouraging your natural intuition will empower you to make the best use of it. The mental intuitive’s biggest challenge may be to differentiate between the constant mental chatter of the thinking brain and the insightful flow of unbiased clear intuition. Begin the process by making the assumption that you are intuitive. The simple intent of acceptance will save you much time and effort, over-thinking and guessing as to whether or not you are intuitive. Mental intuitives have the tendency to get bogged down in inner arguments and intense focus.  Attempting to figure out and logically discern intuitive thoughts just doesn’t work.  Instead, a relaxed, lucid, even day-dreamy imaginative thought flow, is the optimum state to achieve. Find something that soothes the brain. Listening to music, exercising, especially running and swimming, driving through the countryside, doing mundane physical tasks, such as mowing the lawn, folding the laundry, creative activity such as painting or gardening, anything that gives your mind something to focus on without over-thinking, helps. While your brain is busy, your intuition will take this as an opportunity to sneak into your consciousness. You may have had this experience. We often call it an ahha moment when out of seemingly nowhere we receive an answer or understanding that has previously eluded us.

The obvious activity that many people “think” should work and be helpful is meditation. While meditation has many benefits and certainly the ability to tune into your intuition is one of them, all too often, people expect too much and put pressure on themselves to quickly achieve a calm and clear mind. Unfortunately instead of peace this only promotes frustration and stress, not exactly what you were aiming for.  If you regularly meditate or you find that you can easily achieve a quiet receptive state by all means jump in, if not, know that there are other ways to tune within and receive intuitive information.

The next step is to be become aware of the difference between your intuition and your thinking mind. Unlike the chattering of endless thoughts, intuitive knowing is awareness that emerges as a cohesive whole. It is not a step by step logical process. You simply know. This knowing may be accompanied by a slight or sometimes pronounced, buzz of energy or tingling sensation. With your intuition there will be a moment, when you simply know that a thought or insight is true and authentic. I give readings most days of the week for people all over the world and I have been doing this for many years. Yet, almost every day I receive information that surprises me. This is another common indicator that you are receiving intuitive information. You will be surprised and even a bit jolted by a new insight. The thinking mind can only tell you what it knows. It will feed you information based on your beliefs, past experiences, judgments, biases and education. Your intuition could care less if you believe or trust what it broadcasts your way.  Even if you reject an intuitive knowing as impractical nonsense, it will return and persist.

This brings us to the next step. The art of developing a receptive and open mind and learning how to simply listen without letting the thinking brain take over. When you feel you are receiving intuitive information or are not sure but suspect it is possible, stop and listen.  This of course, is not so easy for the mental intuitive. The mental intuitive’s brain at work might look like a house overly decorated with streaming flashing lights at Christmas. You know the ones where people come from miles around to view and marvel at the time, expense and sanity of those who devote their lives to creating the visual wonder. Instead of lighting up all of your circuits, pull back, take a deep breath, and listen.  Train your brain to accomplish this and you will soon be amazed at your intuitive capabilities. Think of yourself as a reporter covering a story. Your job is to listen and if possible write down what you receive. That is it. Do not try to figure it out, understand the why, when, how and who. Just accept what you receive in its entirety. You can at a later time let loose the thinking brain and let it mull over what it is that you have intuited.

Okay, mental intuitive, you are well armed (or at least beginning steps armed).  Boldly intuit the stuff that we need figured out. You are our tough minded, solution seeking, discoverers, writers, liberators, cutting edge inventors and creators. The world needs you just about now.

Intuiting Solo

??????????????????????????????? Have you had moments of crystal clear intuitive awareness? Do you sometimes feel that there is an inner presence that is leading and guiding you and acting in your best interest? Have you ever felt a shiver of excitement move through you when a spontaneous intuitive insight is proven true and correct? These are a just a few of the natural intuitive occurrences that motivate many to further develop their intuitive awareness.
One of the great gifts of intuition is that it enables us to feel closer to others. When you feel what another feels, tune into another’s thoughts or experience their aches and pains in your body, you become aware of your innate connection to others. In a similar way feeling the presence of a loved one on the other side or experiencing the intervention of an angel or spirit guide, assures you that there is life beyond the physical and it is loving wise and comforting.
The paradox of developing intuition is that although it provides us with a unique connection to others, we often develop it in isolation. If you are not fortunate enough to have supportive and interested family and friends or live in an area where you have access to intuitive development classes and group psi activities you likely are developing your intuition on your own. Although intuitive awareness opens new doors of possibilities and connection to all of life, it is initially a process of looking deeper within self. I write books about intuitive and medium development to give others the tools that I have learned and to help bridge the gap of loneliness that can accompany intuitive development. Still even though books serve an important role, practicing, developing and interpreting intuitive insights requires direct experience. Having another or a group to discuss and practice with is helpful. Yet, there can be hidden benefits to developing intuition, psychic and medium abilities on your own.
Spiritual Calling
Without the benefit of a class and teacher to lead you through intuitive exercises and help you to interpret what you receive, you may feel alone in a sea of chaotic intuitive phenomenon. But, you are not as alone as you may believe. You are being guided and supported by loving and wise spiritual guides and angels. When spirit comes knocking on your door with intuitive gifts, know that you are being called into a closer connection with the spirit realm.
Here are some suggestions for solo intuitive development.
• Trust yourself and release your fear of the unknown. The unseen is safe, reliable and is inherently positive and life-giving. Trust that you can communicate and receive its direction and blessing. The universe will respond to your intent to develop your intuition. Notice the magic all around you. The intangible is not as elusive as what it may seem. It will guide you, respond and support your efforts. There are many ways that the unseen communicates with you. Trust it when it does.
• Ask your angels and spirit guides for signs and synchroncities that will confirm when you are on the right track. Then trust what happens. The spirit realm communicates in unlimited ways.
For instance: Has a bird ever seemed to perch on your window sill soon after questioning an intuitive insight and it seemed to be more than a coincidence? Have you ever found coins or feathers, noticed repeating numbers or heard a meaningful verse of a song that seemed to give you a message. These and other similar synchronicities are common signs that you are in the flow of a greater knowing and awareness.
• Take time every day to listen. Relish the quiet and practice sitting silently in meditation. Take time to be in nature, live in the now and listen to the quiet inner voice.
• Find creative ways in your everyday life to take advantage of simple intuitive opportunities. For example: hold mail in your hands or intuitively focus on an email before you open it. Pay attention to any thoughts, emotions, words, numbers or awareness and knowing that surface.
• Notice the energy glow around others or surrounding events. Pay attention to whom or what feels energetically stronger or more compelling. In time you will find that those that seem to glow are often lucky, win, and have good health and generally experience events and situations that work to their benefit.
• Write down your dreams. Even if it seems that they are silly and make no sense, in time patterns and intuitive insights will emerge from them.
• Look at the circumstances of your life symbolically. Use your intuition to see the deeper message within the events, people, circumstances, relationships and conditions of your life. Approach all that you experience as an interactive dialogue between yourself and the universe. What is life attempting to teach you? Where are you experiencing discomfort, frustration or lack? Notice how changes in your thoughts, emotions and actions affect your outer and external experiences. Listen within for insight into the meaning and significance behind your day-to-day experiences.
Developing your intuitive abilities on your own can accelerate your spiritual-intuitive growth and strengthen your connection with the unseen. If you feel you have no support or that your friends and family do not understand your interest in psychic and intuitive awareness, know that you are strong enough to go it alone. There is an invisible presence that assists and guides you. As the Buddha said, Be a light unto yourself.
