How to Help A Lost Soul

soultoheavenDo you ever feel as if you are not alone? You sense that there is an unseen spirit being close, but it does not feel as if this is a loved one or anyone familiar who has passed over. Do you have a desire to be of service and help others? Open-hearted, intuitive and spiritual individuals who are willing to serve and assist others may unknowingly attract lost souls.

Sometimes people die and pass out of the physical body, but do not go to what we call the other side. A vibration of all love, forgiveness and peace, the other side is often referred to as the light, heaven, Elysium, nirvana, paradise or the summerland. It is the soul’s home in the afterlife where we encounter the divine presence and complete love. For various reasons there are times when a soul does not ascend into this higher vibration and instead clings to the physical world after passing out of the body.

This may happen when an individual passes over when they are confused, suffering from an illness such as dementia, under the influence of drugs or alcohol or anesthesia, die in an accident or experience an unexpected death. While some may simply not feel worthy to be going to heaven or do not believe in an afterlife and attempt to stay as close to the physical world. These are not ghosts who wish to frighten us and they are not powerful demonic spirits who can cause us harm, they are simply souls who have lost their way and need help. Because they are still focused in the physical world, they often do not recognize the many angels and their own loved ones in the spirit realm that may be trying to help them. Instead they are often attracted to loving spiritual and intuitive people in the physical world who can sense their presence and be able to help them.

It is likely that you will at some point encounter a lost or wandering spirit or ghost. There are many and they need assistance. When in the presence of a lost or wandering soul you will not feel frightened or scared. Instead you may feel their presence and their feelings of confusion or sadness and you will likely feel a desire to help. If you intuitively sense or feel that a lost soul needs your help it is best to go through the process of helping them over. Your efforts are never wasted. Even if there is not a spirit close by, you may unknowingly help an undetected lost soul miles away.

If you feel that there is a lost soul that is in need of help and this is not someone that you personally knew in the physical world, it is not necessary or even advisable for you to personally connect with whoever you are helping over. Because earthbound spirits are already focused in the physical realm, a personal connection with them only further confuses and keeps them bound here.

Your job in helping a lost soul over to the light is to act as a medium between the realms. It is important that you do not get personally involved with the lost soul. Instead, focus your efforts in invoking the presence of an angel, guide or a spirit in the light who knows and can influence them.

  • Do not ask for signs or phenomena to confirm the presence of a lost or wandering soul. This only makes crossing over more difficult. It is enough confirmation that you or another has felt or sensed a presence. There is never any harm with this process.
  • Imagine that you are surrounded by the white light of protection and ask for angels and beings from the light to be present to assist you and the lost soul.
  • Ask for a divine loving presence from the light to draw close to the lost soul. I ask for Mother Mary or Archangel Michael and their angels. However, ask for the presence of whatever divine being you feel most comfortable with. As you invoke their presence imagine that the lost soul is surrounded by unconditional love.
  • You can send the lost soul a message through your thoughts and feelings and though seeing an image in your mind’s eye. Project the message to him or her that there is a place where they can feel the presence of unconditional love all of the time and that they can be in the company of their loved ones who have passed over. Let them know that the physical realm is no longer their home and that they cannot stay here any longer. Be firm but loving. Give him or her the assurance that there is a place of love and peace waiting for them.
  • Ask for a loved one in the light who knows the lost soul to come close. Spirit loved ones can be very clever and convince even the most confused souls to go with them.
  • Ask the divine being who you invoked and the spirit’s loved ones to take them directly into the light. In your mind’s eye imagine the lost soul going with their loved one, an angel or other divine being into the heavens.
  • When you feel the energy begin to fade or if you receive an intuitive message that the soul has successfully made their transition into the light, imagine yourself surrounded by light. You may feel a sense of peace and joy and a bit lighter after this process. Ask your angels and guides to clear your energy field of anything that is not in your highest good. Thank all those who helped your guides, angels, divine beings and those from the other side.

During this process you may not receive any confirmation or evidence that you are connecting with the lost soul or that angels and divine beings are present. Trust that you are making a difference even if you do not receive the kind of evidence that you would like. You can do this process whenever and wherever you sense a lost or wandering soul. You are liberating and freeing lost and wandering souls into perfect love and peace and contributing to the ascension of the planet.

Question: Why Do Some People Suffer Before Passing Over?

soultoheaven Someone recently asked me an interesting question. She wondered why her grandmother suffered for so long before passing over to the other side. I understood the question well. Anyone who has helplessly watched a loved one suffer through pain and illness before passing over, has the same question. Over the course of a year, my mother went from playing tennis two hours a day, to being bedridden, riddled with pain and unable to think clearly. When she died it felt like a blessing.
For months after my mother’s death I contemplated and asked my guides to help me to understand why she and so many others suffer before passing over. I learned that although it appears to make no sense and be a cruel way to live out the last days of life, the soul doesn’t abide by our human perceptions. On some level we accept and create all that happens to us. Yet, it is not our conscious mind or personality and ego that makes these choices. Instead, it is the soul and spirit that perceives value and evolutionary advancement and possibilities in what in human terms is senseless and merciless. In my mother’s case, my guides told me that my mother chose to suffer in this way to “burn” off negativity and karma before entering the higher vibrations of light. In this way she was able to leave behind and dissolve emotional, mental, spiritual and even physical patterns and accumulated energy that may prevent her from rising to higher blissful layers of light more quickly upon passing.
There are many people who suffer who lived good, positive lives with kindness and integrity. They may confront their imminent passing with courage and acceptance. There are others who are not as fortunate. They are fearful of going over, plagued with guilt and doubtful that there is life beyond the human experience.
Sometimes we choose a slower more conscious experience of dying to become more aware of our spirit and soulful self. It is only the physical and ego self that suffers. Dying pushes the soul to the forefront. The soul never suffers, it understands, heals, reveals truth and is a comforting balm to the confused human self. Many people become aware during the process of dying that there is a part of them that is eternal. They see their loved ones on the other side and make frequent trips into the spirit realm to check it out before they go over.
Sometimes people linger and die slowly as a way to bring comfort to those left behind. It can be hard to let go. Family and friends may want to hold onto their loved ones and cannot imagine life without them. A slower dying process can be an opportunity to review one’s life and forgive and be forgiven. It gives the family time to let go and say all that they need to say.
Some souls choose to suffer to lift the burdens and pain of others. It is the final opportunity in the physical body to love and express goodness. Conscious suffering can lift the suffering and burdens of others when it encompasses and transmutes pain that is bigger than the individual. Shortly before my mother died she told me that her suffering was becoming unbearable. She didn’t know how to get relief. Her mental and emotional suffering was as difficult as the physical pain and discomfort. I told her to imagine that her pain was alleviating the pain of children who were suffering.
If you knew, I told her, that your suffering was helping children, could you do this? She said that she could and she immediately become more calm and at peace. This seemed to give a sense of purpose to the confusion and the loneliness that comes with the end of physical life.
Even if we do not understand it from a human perspective. This world is a flip flop of the eternal realm of spirit. What you go through and endure and what your family and friends go through is not without meaning and purpose. It is the rich soil from which your soul grows and expands into true and eternal love and life.

Four Misunderstood Intuitive Signals

10405683_10154294606595247_7741343829002372226_nWhen we listen to our intuition something magical happens. Despite the conditions and difficulties that confront us, a way is made, a door is opened and the wisdom and grace of the universe flows into our lives. We are so accustomed to using our logic and reason to make choices and decisions, we all too often, disregard subtle intuitive guidance.

When we listen to and act on our intuition, unexpected and often surprisingly useful help comes our way. Yet, intuitive insight gives us even more than practical and concrete guidance and direction. It reminds us that we are more than we believe ourselves to be. There is a subtle and often mysterious transcendent presence that moves through our heart, mind and spirit. It connects us to one another and to a greater wisdom than our thinking minds can fathom. Intuitive awareness gives us insight about ourselves and the universe. It is the doorway through which the soul’s wisdom and love surfaces.

Our intuition continually sends us signs and signals, some we notice but many we disregard and are oblivious to. We are inclined to believe that receiving intuitive guidance is markedly  different then the way that we receive information through our other senses. Yet intuitive insight and awareness is intertwined throughout our moment to moment thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Here are some often Misunderstood ways that your Intuition surfaces.

Your Thoughts:

Although there often seems to be a discernible difference between thinking and intuiting, intuitive messages often emerge through our thoughts. Intuitive thoughts come into our awareness complete and as a cohesive whole. Finite mind chatter thoughts stream into our consciousness in a more linear way, one thought leads to another, then  another. They may cause confusion and doubt or leave us with more questions. Intuitive thoughts are ahha moments that assure us with a flash of knowing of their accuracy and truth.

For example: While driving the car or doing another repetitive task, the sudden surprising awareness of the solution to a pressing problem, is likely an intuitive thought.

Your Feelings and Emotions:

With a little awareness and focus you can become aware of the difference between an intuitive emotion and one that is being generated through biological and physiological responses. Most of our emotions and feelings originate in what we think and believe or are prompted by physical or mental unconscious triggers. Intuitive messages that emerge through your emotions are often sudden, all consuming and may seem inappropriate to the situation. They quickly shift us into unexpected feelings and emotions that are unrelated to our current thoughts.

Intuitive energy information may move through you as unexpected feelings of comfort, love and compassion that seem to contradict your current situation or emotional state of being.

For instance: In the midst of grief and loss, the sudden comforting feeling of peace and love that heals our heart and soul, is most likely an intuitive emotion.

Emotions such as fear and stress may also be intuitive messages that come to alert you to be cautious and extra aware of your environment or other conditions.

For instance: Feeling surprising stress about driving your usual route to work one morning despite no recent issues or problems, is likely an intuitive message.

Physical Sensations:

Physical sensations can be triggered by intuitive energy information. A tingling up your spine, the hair on your arms standing up, a feeling in the pit of your stomach or a buzzing in your head are common intuitive signals. They differ from physical sensations derived from normal biological processes like digestion or muscle twinges, in that intuitive physical sensations usually come with an instantaneous awareness, knowing or feeling.

For instance: The gut feeling in the pit of your stomach that something is not right about the contract that you are about to sign, is likely an intuitive message.

Unexpected Changes:

Intuitive messages often show up in our lives through events and conditions that unexpectedly fall apart or bring us good fortunate and positive benefits.

For example: Have you have done everything that you can to organize and execute a plan or project and something seems to come out of nowhere to put an end to it or to divert the expected outcome? Has a spontaneous opportunity or a surprising success ever easily and unexpectedly come your way?

These kinds of situations are a type of intuitive message that come into our lives to inspire and align us with our true soul path. They differ from plans that fall apart through lack of hard work and preparation or opportunities that come to us that steer us away from our highest good through wishful thinking and empty illusion. Outer intuitive messages that emerge through changes in our current plans and direction, transform us on a deep level. We inwardly sense that what has occurred in not an accident or lucky chance. Recognizing this as a call to a new path we are given the choice to trust our inner knowing or continue to ignore the signs. When we choose to pay attention and accept the wisdom of the message, we are never sorry. Good things come, even if we are initially frustrated or resistant.

Intuitive messages come to you from the core of your authentic self. They are the voice of your heart and soul. As subtle as they may appear to be, trust the little voice inside of you that alway recognizes truth.

What to Do When Your Life is Turned Upside Down

10479723_862760080419881_4030678774362004685_n Living a spiritual life, becoming aware and listening within, is an accelerated path of growth and evolution. Sometimes this journey inspires peaceful, joyous and lofty thoughts, feelings and experiences, but not always. Along the way you are likely to experience times of sudden and unexpected change and confusion.

I recently saw a client, a woman about to turn forty, whose world and marriage was turned upside down by an overwhelming and unexpected attraction to another man. The last time I saw Vicky was a couple of years ago. At that time she was happily married with two young children. Now confused and ridden with guilt over her affair, Vicky wanted to understand why she was drawn and magnetized to this man and what to do now that her life was in shambles.

Vicky is not alone. This kind of experience is more common than we would like to imagine. Many are jolted out of their predictable life by unforeseen and unexpected people and events. This might be spurred on by the entry of someone who stirs up unexpected feelings, the sudden loss of a job, failing or not getting into a long sought after program or opportunity, financial loss, being left, betrayed or finding out upsetting information about a loved one.

These cataclysmic occurrences, ignite and stir up new feelings and emotions that we cannot always explain. We no longer know who we are, why the unexpected is happening and what to do about it. There is a powerful force that seems to take over what we thought we wanted and steers us in a totally unexpected direction.
The Root of Change

The root of these life chaining events is within you. You have come into this life to fully experience who you are. You are here to evolve, develop compassion, practice forgiveness and to love and experience joy. If who you want to be and the life that you want to live is not in synch with your innermost truth, your desires will take constant effort to manifest. Even then they will require continued exhaustive energy and not be long lasting. Your powerful authentic self seeks to break down the barriers that limit your potential and the expression of your truth.

Vicky like many others, was not intentionally living a false life and suppressing her true thoughts and feelings. She was doing the best that she could to be a good wife and mother. She loved her family and was not looking to have an affair.

Yet, unexpected changes occur when we settle into a false life. We do not always know who we are and what we need. We are not so much trying to consciously control and limit ourselves, we just do not know the potential that lies within and our true purpose. Life shows us, often in unpleasant ways, what lies deep within our soul and psyche. Taken into places and situations that we would normally avoid, we are re-routed from the safety of our comfort zone and like a baby bird thrown out of the nest. We come to know who we are when we are pushed and prodded to change and grow. Under normal circumstances we would not choose to be tested in these ways. We avoid change and do all we can do to control our day to day circumstances.

If you find yourself in one of these kinds of life-altering situations here are a few helpful suggestions.

Do not try to control what is happening As much as you may not understand why and what you are going through, surrender and let go. When we resist and try to control ourselves and life, change only becomes harder. Once in motion transformation is inevitable.

Keep the focus on you and your process. As tempting as it is to blame or become preoccupied with outer events and other people, what is happening is about you. People and circumstances come along when we are ready for change. When we need a wake up call our soul creates the perfect experience to get our attention. Conditions will right themselves as you accept your lessons, evolve and transform.

Take time for yourself. Instead of trying to figure out what you may not yet be able to understand, accept your confusion and give yourself some time.

If you do not know what to do, do not do anything. You may need solitude to listen within and re-connect with your inner self.

Have compassion for yourself and the people in your life that are affected by what you are going through. Compassion is the ability to fully accept and love and care for yourself without judgment. Listen to others and accept the fear and pain that they may be experiencing. Listen to your own fear, doubt and stress and keep loving yourself.

Forgive yourself and forgive others. Even if you do not feel forgiving and especially loving. Use positive affirmations that support and spark your most wise and loving inner self.

Take baby steps and constantly assess how you feel. Know that it is all right to make mistakes, change your mind and feel differently from one moment to another. Do not make commitments or long lasting changes unless you feel a calm inner assurance that you are on the right path.

Notice new aspects of your personality and inner self that are emerging. Integrate these into your daily life. Listen to your heart and let it be your guide. Follow what helps you to feel centered, balanced, loving and calm.

Know that the confusion, the tumultuous events and changes, will pass. Wait out the storm. Clarity, renewed energy and a higher state of well-being and inner peace is on its way.
I gracefully accept change.

Transform Doubt

sun Behind every genius idea, act of courage, work of art, budding love relationship and step into the unknown, doubt lurks. Following an ahha moment where the clouds of confusion part and we see with clear awareness, there often comes a time of questioning. Self-doubt can make you feel as if you are inwardly divided and at odds with what you know to be your truth. Your creative, inspired and intuitively insightful spirit and your cautious, fear based ego mind seem to be at war with one another. Which one you listen to and act from, depends in part of your past experiences and your self-awareness.
Doubt traps us in a small and dark corner. A form of judgment, doubt arises when we expect certain outcomes. For years I wanted to write a book. I had a lot of ideas, but whenever I started to write them down, I doubted my abilities. I would torture myself with questions like: What if I failed? What if I spend months and maybe years writing a book and I cannot get it published? What if no one reads it or likes what I write? My expectations were high. If I wrote a book I wanted it to be, published, read and successful. Doubts plagued me.
Lacking the conviction that I could be a successful writer, I turned my attention to other areas. I devoted myself to becoming a better and more accurate intuitive and medium and increasing my clientele. I also worked part time as an art therapist at a treatment center for troubled youth. It was in this unlikely environment that my fears and anxiousness about writing was transformed. A large part of my work as an art therapist involved creating stories. To keep the young people engaged and participating I had to creatively dig deep. When they enthusiastically engaged with one of my tall tales, usually an outrageous and ridiculous one, I quickly wrote it down. Hopeful that the next class would also find it as interesting, I began to write without noticing that I was writing. No longer feeling pressure to perform and be successful, my relationship to writing changed. Writing, I realized, helped me to feel alive, vibrant and full of energy. It was a transcendent experience where all of me came together with passion and purpose.
The dread of publishers, others opinions and my own perfectionist self-judgment began to fade and be less important. Writing was no longer felt like a choice. I wrote for my soul, it was the elixir that I needed to feel fully alive.
If doubt is plaguing you here are a few suggestions
Take a break and get away from the project or issue that you feel doubtful about.
Do something that helps you to feel confident and happy, It doesn’t matter what it is. Go for a walk, play your favorite sport, listen to music, watch a good movie or go to a museum.
Be honest about your expectations. Ask yourself the following questions. What are my expectations? Are they realistic? Am I expecting too much of myself”
Be with others who love and encourage you.
Share your feelings with someone that you can trust and who is supportive. Be careful not to confide in those who may have their own doubts and a negative perspective. Learn how to take care of yourself and share your dreams with those who have followed theirs.
Be with those who uplift you and will love you for who you are.
Listen within, for what is right for you.
Spend some time alone. Listen to your heart and your gut. Ask yourself: “If I knew that I would succeed and that everything is possible what would I do?
Trust your intuition.
Make plans and take baby steps.
Write down a plan for what you would like to accomplish and experience. Break it down into manageable steps. Give yourself small daily and weekly goals. Celebrate your progress. It you begin feel doubt take a time out. Refocus on what you have accomplished and what your next steps will be.
Give it your all and remember that choosing the safe sure thing does not necessarily mean that you will be happy, successful or better off. You cannot control outcomes, but you can choose to participate in what brings you joy and what feels right for you.

Three Ways You can Help Your Loved Ones on the Other Side

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Many people seek the services of a medium because they want to know that their loved ones who have passed over are peacefully resting, surrounded by love and still very much alive. Receiving messages from a professional medium can ease the grieving process as well as provide insight as to how your loved ones who have crossed over are guiding and assisting you in your daily life.
Yet, you do not have to be a professional medium to communicate with those on the other side. It is natural and normal to sense the presence of your loved ones, especially in difficult and challenging times. Perhaps you have experienced this yourself. For instance: Has the solution to a problem or concern suddenly popped up in your thoughts? When you need to make a decision, have you ever had a strong intuitive feeling that inspired you to choose the best outcome? Do you at times find that you are at the right place at the right time or have surprising good luck? These and other similar experiences are signs that you are being guided by an invisible presence. A loved on the other side is likely working diligently to assist and help you.
Although you may be aware of being guided by the loving presence of another in the spirit realm, you may not be aware of the extent to which you are able to help those on the other side. You are more powerful than you may realize. Love transcends the boundaries of time and space. Your efforts here on earth impact those you love, both here in the physical world and in the beyond.
Here are three ways that you can assist your loved ones who have passed over.
Claim Victory over Challenges
One of the ways that our loved ones who have passed over continue to heal and evolve is by drawing close to those of us in the physical world that are experiencing similar life lessons. When your loved ones in spirit review their earth lives, they become aware of the decisions and actions that they took while in the physical world that supported or sabotaged their soul growth and evolution. Inspired by the all-knowing awareness of the heavens, they begin to understand how they may have limited their ability to manifest and experience their highest good. This is where you come in. By watching and observing your positive efforts in confronting your day to day challenges and circumstances, healing your emotional wounds, developing your talents and skills, and your service and kindness to others, they have the opportunity to vicariously experience a new way through you. Through your personal choices, struggles and actions, those who have passed over are inspired, encouraged helped and healed.
Forgive
Let go of the past. Release and heal the wounds and the injustices done to you by those on the other side. Forgiveness frees you from the heavy chains of negativity. When you allow yourself to love another despite the wrongdoings that they have committed, you dissolve your karmic connection to him or her. Loving healing energy streams into your soul and you are free.
Those on the other side need our forgiveness. In a recent reading, a client’s father came forward from the spirit realm to thank his daughter for forgiving him. Her father told her that when she forgave him he allowed himself to experience and absorb the love that was all around him. He realized the harshness and meanness that he inflicted on her and he felt a deep repentance and sadness. He could not understand how he could have hurt such a beautiful soul. Her forgiveness humbled him and allowed him to heal.
When you forgive another who is on the other side you return to them their actions, thoughts and emotions. The energy goes back to its source. Those in spirit who you forgive are motivated to focus on the actions, beliefs and the choices that they made while in the physical world. What we do, we do to ourselves.
The degree to which you forgive another, you will accept forgiveness for yourself. Forgiveness magnifies the energy of authentic love and compassion and allows miracles into your life.
Live Life to the Fullest
Embrace the goodness of life. Practice gratitude and generate positive energy. Not only does this create happiness in your own life, your enthusiasm inspires and creates a stronger bond with those on the other side.
Those who did not take advantage of opportunities in the physical realm, procrastinated or had a negative prospective, learn from your courage and positive outlook. Once in the spirit realm your loved ones become aware that they created what they experienced here on earth through their attitudes, thoughts and perception. Through the positive choices that you make that lead to happiness, they can experience the physical realm in a new way.
Joy and love is the energy of the other side. Your happiness dissolves the separation between you and those who you love who have passed over. Your loved one may have left the earth without experiencing the joy that is possible here.
Embracing joy lifts you into the higher realms of love, beyond the confines of time and space. True connection with the other side is possible when you live in the pure presence of love.
Allow the veil that seems to separate the physical and spiritual realms to dissolve. We are one.
