From a young age, I felt different. My tendency to know what others didn’t know, to see spirit beings and to feel others feelings, seemed to set me apart. As I got older I further explored and developed my psychic and medium abilities and better understood why I felt different. Still for years, I felt an uncomfortable chasm between myself and others that I did not want to exist. I know that this is true for many others.
If you have an interest in areas such as, spirituality and psychic and intuitive awareness, an innate understanding of energy and healing energy, have an interest in angels, spirit beings, life after death or consider yourself intuitively or emotionally sensitive, you may have felt this same way. You may have learned not to share all of your perspectives and interests with family, co-workers, some of your peers and others who you feel may judge or misunderstand you. You may have been labeled as quirky, woo-woo, one of those, flighty, spacey or at times felt an uncomfortable silence from others when you shared your perspective and truth. When this happens often enough, your authentic self, the core truth of who you are, may feel ignored, silenced, invisible and even shamed. Over time this subtly distances you from your inner source of power and sense of self.
To be free, happy and whole, you have to know and embrace all of who you are. Even those aspects that may not be understood or accepted by others. Along your journey of self-awareness and self-acceptance, delve deep into your truth. You are more than your thoughts, your emotions and your personalty likes and dislikes. There is a presence and spirit within you that wants to come to life.

True health is more than a lack of disease or pain. Emotional, mental and spiritual well-being all contribute to our overall experience of good health and positive satisfaction with ourselves and life. The new and evolving heath paradigm includes empowered self-awareness and a taking back of our power to actively participate in creating optimum mind, body and spirit wellness.
Your body is always communicating to you and it is ready to revel both the positive and negative influences that are impacting your health. Yet, it’s messages often bypass logic and reasoning and are more intuitive in nature. For instance, pain or physical discomfort can be a type of intuitive message alerting you that something needs attention. Feelings of inner peace and harmony are also messages, informing you of a positive state of health. Your body communicates to you through your emotions, thoughts, sensations, images, vibration, messages, synchronisities and dreams. With a little help and practice you can learn how to better tune into the messages being sent your way and work in unison with your body’s intelligence.
Although listening to your body is easy and natural, we do not always know how to get the conversation started.
To begin, it is important to relax and slip into a receptive and attentive state. Get comfortable and close your eyes. Breathe a few deep relaxing breaths. Scan your body starting at the top of your head. Move your awareness down through your body and become aware of any place that is sore or tense or tight.
Once you become aware of an area of soreness, tension or tightness, ask these five questions to begin the dialogue.
If this area had a voice what would it be saying?
What is the emotional energy of this area?
What is the mental thought energy or beliefs and attitudes associated with this area?
What message does my spirit have for me concerning this area?
What do I need to heal?
Ask yourself one question at a time then, pause and listen within. If your mind begins to wander or you start overthinking instead of listening, go back to the breath and repeat the question.
What to Expect
Trust your initial impressions. Give yourself time to correctly interpret and understand everything that you receive. Some messages will make sense immediately, the meaning of others may unfold over time. It is enough to begin a conversation. Simply communicating with your body, caring for yourself and listening, activates healing.
Intuitive thoughts are persistent and repetitive. They will not always jump out at you or initially seem important. You may hear words, phrases, sentences or intuit a complete knowing and understanding in a particular area of your health.
It is likely, you will also experience a fair amount of mind chatter. This is normal. In the midst of random thoughts, your body will still communicate with you.
In response to your questions your body my release suppressed emotions. You may feel a knot of emotional energy letting go and not understand its origin or importance. Quite often just feeling the emotions and feelings that surface is enough, as this is all it takes to release them. Feel all of your emotions as they surface, without suppressing or trying to understand them.
Intuited Body Sensations
Your body may communicate to your through a variety of sensations. You may feel an increase in energy like an accelerated vibration moving through you. Certain areas of your body may feel more dense or tight. You may intuit information through your solar plexus as a gut knowing. Messages may come in the form of inspiration or the motivation to get out and take a walk or move your body through dance or another enjoyable activity.
Your body may communicate to you through images that are symbolic, figurative, cartoon like or realistic looking and three dimensional. Your intuition and imagination work together to empower you to better understand what your body is communicating. Images can be seen with inner sight, felt or sometimes we just know what they look like without clearly seeing them. Allow the images to change, morph into new forms and communicate with you. If you do not understand a particular image, ask to see it in a new way.
Different Forms of Guidance
Some of the messages you receive may not necessarily seem to be related to your health. You might receive a suggestion to avoid certain stressful situations, seek more solitude and pursue a new occupation. You may suddenly feel the need to free yourself from a limiting relationship, speak your truth and heal emotional wounds or practice forgiveness and compassion. Although these issues may not seem to directly impact your health, they are. The root of good health is in your ability to stay in alignment with your true essence. When you are not in the flow of the power of your spirit, your health will eventually suffer in some way.
Continue to ask yourself questions and intuitively listen within. Once you have begun to communicate with your body, it will continue to send you messages. Messages may surface through your dreams or through your feelings, thoughts and an inner sense of knowing. Keep a journal document your health dreams and other intuitive information that spontaneously surfaces.
Seek help from other resources if needed.
If you encounter a physical issue or other information that concerns you, consult with a physician or medical professional. Use what your body has communicated to you to better equip you in getting additional help and support. If you become aware of suppressed memories, old traumas or if difficult emotions or memories surface, consult a therapist or healer. Do not try to do everything yourself. Allow others to help and assist you in further healing.
With many years of being a professional psychic and medium under my belt, I am more aware than ever of the distinct difference between the thinking mind and intuitive receptivity. Intuitive awareness has taught me the importance of inner stillness and how to manage emotions, disappointments, and be present. I have learned to go in the opposite direction of the thinking mind. To be less reactive and to live with what is. Intuition has led me to acceptance. Even though much of the time we are motivated to develop intuition to know more and have an advantage in our daily concerns, it mysteriously always dips us into the deeper currents where we are working out the issues of our soul.
The map through life that intuition offers is a wild adventure. Intuitive awareness is a paradoxical lover that both demands that you wrestle with your day to day issues and challenges and at the same time, laugh it all off for the wispy dream that it is. We don’t get strapped in tight for this roller coaster. Instead, the exploration of intuitive awareness soon steers us into the depths of our inner self. It implores us to look in the full length mirror of our mind, body and spirit and become aware of how well we are reflecting the true potential and majesty of our soul.
When we intuitively listen within, timeless questions come to the forefront and demand to be answered.
How do I love? Can I be kind in the face of small frustrations and meanness? Can I be myself and follow my dreams or am I easily scared into complacency and rigid adherence to societal norms and expectations? What does this world need for me to give and share?
We cannot answer these questions with only the courage and love that our human self can muster. Fortunately intuitive awareness supplies both the questions and the wisdom to answer them. It opens the door for our soul to surge forward and remind us of a truth that we may have been hiding from. We are made of the stuff of the earth, the skies and the stars. The heavens is our rightful home. Life on earth breaks us down and builds us back up many times over. Yet, within self there is a much stronger and brighter light that the world cannot touch. In this light we heal and are made strong. Your intuitive knowing is always nudging you to reclaim what has never been lost. All that we undergo, the joy, suffering, desire, confusion and stress, pushes us to perceive and embody this inner light.
Your power and true self does not live in the shadows of the world. The quality of your days, the ability to feel authentic joy and live with purpose and positivity cannot be found through searching outside of yourself. Instead, it is when we are able to listen, perceive, feel and sense that there is something more within us speaking with a still small whisper, that it all begins to make sense.
Turn away from the chaotic loud voice of the world and be present to your own profound goodness and you will find the true you. Intuition may give you insight into the many demands that you encounter each day, but it’s true purpose is to usher you into the remembrance of who you are.

Living a spiritual life, becoming aware and listening within, is an accelerated path of growth and evolution. Sometimes this journey inspires peaceful, joyous and lofty thoughts, feelings and experiences, but not always. Along the way you are likely to experience times of sudden and unexpected change and confusion.
I recently saw a client, a woman about to turn forty, whose world and marriage was turned upside down by an overwhelming and unexpected attraction to another man. The last time I saw Vicky was a couple of years ago. At that time she was happily married with two young children. Now confused and ridden with guilt over her affair, Vicky wanted to understand why she was drawn and magnetized to this man and what to do now that her life was in shambles.
Vicky is not alone. This kind of experience is more common than we would like to imagine. Many are jolted out of their predictable life by unforeseen and unexpected people and events. This might be spurred on by the entry of someone who stirs up unexpected feelings, the sudden loss of a job, failing or not getting into a long sought after program or opportunity, financial loss, being left, betrayed or finding out upsetting information about a loved one.

The Root of Change
The root of these life chaining events is within you. You have come into this life to fully experience who you are. You are here to evolve, develop compassion, practice forgiveness and to love and experience joy. If who you want to be and the life that you want to live is not in synch with your innermost truth, your desires will take constant effort to manifest. Even then they will require continued exhaustive energy and not be long lasting. Your powerful authentic self seeks to break down the barriers that limit your potential and the expression of your truth.
Vicky like many others, was not intentionally living a false life and suppressing her true thoughts and feelings. She was doing the best that she could to be a good wife and mother. She loved her family and was not looking to have an affair.
Yet, unexpected changes occur when we settle into a false life. We do not always know who we are and what we need. We are not so much trying to consciously control and limit ourselves, we just do not know the potential that lies within and our true purpose. Life shows us, often in unpleasant ways, what lies deep within our soul and psyche. Taken into places and situations that we would normally avoid, we are re-routed from the safety of our comfort zone and like a baby bird thrown out of the nest. We come to know who we are when we are pushed and prodded to change and grow. Under normal circumstances we would not choose to be tested in these ways. We avoid change and do all we can do to control our day to day circumstances.
If you find yourself in one of these kinds of life-altering situations here are a few helpful suggestions.
Do not try to control what is happening As much as you may not understand why and what you are going through, surrender and let go. When we resist and try to control ourselves and life, change only becomes harder. Once in motion transformation is inevitable.
Keep the focus on you and your process. As tempting as it is to blame or become preoccupied with outer events and other people, what is happening is about you. People and circumstances come along when we are ready for change. When we need a wake up call our soul creates the perfect experience to get our attention. Conditions will right themselves as you accept your lessons, evolve and transform.
Take time for yourself. Instead of trying to figure out what you may not yet be able to understand, accept your confusion and give yourself some time.
If you do not know what to do, do not do anything. You may need solitude to listen within and re-connect with your inner self.
Have compassion for yourself and the people in your life that are affected by what you are going through. Compassion is the ability to fully accept and love and care for yourself without judgment. Listen to others and accept the fear and pain that they may be experiencing. Listen to your own fear, doubt and stress and keep loving yourself.
Forgive yourself and forgive others. Even if you do not feel forgiving and especially loving. Use positive affirmations that support and spark your most wise and loving inner self.
Take baby steps and constantly assess how you feel. Know that it is all right to make mistakes, change your mind and feel differently from one moment to another. Do not make commitments or long lasting changes unless you feel a calm inner assurance that you are on the right path.
Notice new aspects of your personality and inner self that are emerging. Integrate these into your daily life. Listen to your heart and let it be your guide. Follow what helps you to feel centered, balanced, loving and calm.
Know that the confusion, the tumultuous events and changes, will pass. Wait out the storm. Clarity, renewed energy and a higher state of well-being and inner peace is on its way.
